Volunteers will assist park staff in marking the safety zones for the upcoming hunting season at the Hughes Tree Farm in Prince Frederick.
Duties include:
- Attach Safety Zone signs
- Paint boundary blazes
- Clear trails
Time Commitment: 2 hours
NOTE: There are no restroom or water facilities available at the park.
Materials and Equipment:
- Hand tools will be provided.
- Volunteers should bring work gloves, water bottles and any necessary lunch or trail snacks.
- It is recommended to bring tick/insect repellent.
Clothing: Volunteers should wear long pants and sturdy hiking shoes. Long sleeves can protect from briars and insects. Volunteers may be exposed to poison ivy, ticks, mosquitos, snakes, spiders and other wildlife.
We will be walking in the forest, off-trails. Work performed requires the exertion of moderate to heavy physical effort and may involve climbing over fallen trees, up and down hills, and lifting and moving objects up to 50 pounds.
