Kings Landing Summer Garden Maintenance

Expired

Description

A maximum number of six volunteers will be needed to help with the upkeep of the King's Landing Park butterfly garden at Tom Wisner Hall in Huntingtown.

Schedule: Plan to come out at least once a month (Tuesdays or Thursdays for now) beginning August and ending sometime in October, depending on how the season progresses. If you want to volunteer but can't make the shifts listed, send Jenny an email at the address below and we can work something out.
Keep an eye out for any special project days!

Time Commitment: 1-3 hours depending on availability of volunteers.

Equipment: Bring your own garden gloves and garden tools if you have them. Hand clippers can be borrowed from staff, and we can provide disposable gloves if needed.

Skills: Minimum knowledge of local plant life and gardening is required. Staff present will help educate volunteers on best practices and knowledge. Much bending will be required, as well as upper body strength to carry weed containers to the treeline.

Work also includes: Possible exposure to poison ivy, ants, bees, flies, mosquitos, and ticks.
