A maximum number of five volunteers will be needed to help restore and bring life to the pond at King's Landing Park in Huntingtown.
Duties will include:
-Cleaning out the dry pond
-Placing new liner in the pond
-Replacing rocks to form a border and waterfall
-Filling pond with water and aquatic plants
Schedule:
Wednesday May 6: 10 AM - 1 PM
Time Commitment:
3 hours
Materials and Equipment:
Hand tools will be provided by staff, however gloves must be brought by the volunteer. Volunteers should also provide their own water bottles.
Special Skills:
Lifting will be required for rocks and other debris. Some knowledge of how to create ponds and work with pond liner is appreciated. Also, some knowledge about how to create small waterfalls for human-made ponds would also be appreciated.
Work also includes:
Possible exposure to ticks, mosquitoes, and flies.
