The thousands of observations documented during the City Nature Challenge (Part 1) need to be identified!
The City Nature Challenge has two parts:
Part 1) Making observations between April 25-28. City Nature Challenge 2025 (Part 1) opportunity
Part 2) Identifying observations from April 25-May 4 (which is this opportunity)
This is the volunteer opportunity for second part: We need people to work independently to review the City Nature Challenge observations. Identification sessions will be scheduled. Respond to this Part 2 Opportunity and we'll keep you posted.

How to Participate
1. Download the iNaturalist app (or go online to www.inaturalist.org) and create a free account.
2. Join the Project on iNaturalist https://www.inaturalist.org/projects/city-nature-challenge-2025-washington-dc-metro-area
3. Between April 25-28 observe and document biodiversity! (Part 1)
4. Between April 25 and May 4, identify the observations, best done through the web site. (Part 2)
Attend an iNaturalist Training
We're working on training sessions.
