Volunteer: Milkweed Density Measuring 2026Volunteers work with staff and trained volunteers measure the density of milkweed at the Gatewood Preserve meadow. This data collection is the first step in Monarch Monitoring in order to estimate the amount of milkweed available in our meadow. Meet in the parking lot of Gatewood Preserve on April 26, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. Please dress for the weather, wear SPF, bug spray, and bring water. Inclement weather we will reschedule. Help the naturalist count monarch caterpillars in the meadow as part of the citizen science Monarch Larva Monitoring Project.
