Returning barn owl nest box monitors will receive a separate invitation to the meeting.
This training is required for new volunteers who want to help monitor the boxes.
We will review the activities for 2024 including updates on nesting successes, adult taxonomic study, upcoming work for the winter, and recognize all the work our volunteers accomplished this year. You will receive an orientation training to learn more about the ecology of this shy owl who is important to the ecology of our area.
Qualified volunteers may also participate in our annual banding session, where we use aluminum tags bands on the young and adult birds and their vital information is recorded. Volunteers may help with data recording and photo documentation during banding.
