Description

This opportunity is for current (as of 4/10/2024) active animal care volunteers only.

This is a FREE experience.

Friday, April 26th from 3:00 - 5:00 p.m.

Calvert Marine Museum
14200 Solomons Island Rd S, Solomons, MD 20688

Volunteers will enjoy a behind-the-scenes tour of the animal care areas at Calvert Marine Museum with our host Matt Neff, the Curator of Estuarine Biology. We will get an up-close look at their animal holdings and care techniques, and hopefully get to experience some close encounters with their animal collection. After the tour concludes you are welcome to explore the museum on your own until the museum closes at 5pm.

Volunteers can choose to meet at the museum at 3 p.m., or if you would like a ride to the museum you can meet Kim at Battle Creek Cypress Swamp in Prince Frederick at 2:30 p.m. Please let Kim know if you plan to ride in the county van to the museum so she knows to wait for you at Battle Creek.

Please wear close-toed shoes. If you have any questions contact Kimberly.Curren@calvertcountymd.gov
