Description

Take care of the nature center animals' daily needs such as feeding and cage cleaning.  Raptor care and feeding is a separate volunteer opportunity.

QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Successfully complete an Animal Care Training. See https://www.calvertparks.org/animal-care for current training opportunities.
  • Children between ages 10 and 18 must have attended animal care training and must be accompanied by a supervising adult who also has animal care training certification.
  • Maintaining Qualifications: you must volunteer to care for the animals at least once in a 2-month time period.  If it has been more than 2 months since you have volunteered, you will need to attend a re-certification training. Volunteers must have their qualifications updated every 6 months.

Preregistration is required. Walk-ins will not be accepted.
