It generally takes a little over an hour and will help you to decide if being a teaching volunteer is for you - and get you on the path to helping teach our CHESPAX school fieldtrips.
A background check is not necessary for the orientation meeting; however, one will be needed to move forward with shadowing the school groups and then teaching.
The Calvert County public schools (CCPS) background check has 2 parts - the online application and the in-person ID scan with CHESPAX staff at Kings Landing Park. The online application can be started here:https://www.calvertnet.k12.md.us/departments/human-resources/become-a-volunteer

Note:
This orientation, along with at least 2 program shadow days, and a background check must completed be before a volunteer can begin working with school groups.
