Day of Service at Flag Ponds Park
Saturday, August 23, 2024, 8 am to 10am
Join Park staff and help prevent the spread of invasive beach grasses at the Flag Ponds Beach. Volunteers ages 9 and up are needed to help remove seed heads from Phragmites grass along the shoreline. All equipment is provided, you just provide the people power. This has been an ongoing project all year and you can help make a difference.
This is a perfect opportunity for scouts and other service groups. Volunteers under age 16 will need an accompanying adult.
Upon arrival, let the gate attendant know you are volunteering. We will meet at the Education Building at 8 am and walk to the work site. It is about a half mile to the beach.
