This is a required training to participate in the 2024 Maple Sap Collection and Trail Monitor program. During this training you will learn how collect and store the maple sap from our tapped maple trees along the Sugar Bush Trail. You will also learn how to safely monitor and maintain the trail and what types of issues to look out for.
The collected sap will be boiled into maple syrup later in the season.
Training is only open to adults or youth ages 16+ (children may accompany you on your collection days) and volunteers only need to sign up for 1 of the training sessions.
Sessions are: Sunday, January 28th from 1 to 3pm or Sunday, February 4th from 1 to 3 pm.
Sap collection and trail monitoring will involve physical labor including carrying heavy buckets, walking and working on uneven terrain and in wet or muddy conditions.
