Volunteer: CHESPAX Oysters programTeach Calvert County's 5th graders about how Oysters impact the health of the Chesapeake Bay. All Oysters programs are held at the Fishing Creek Boardwalk in Chesapeake Beach, MD. Volunteer shift is generally 9:30am - 1:15pm. We ask that volunteers commit to working at least one shift every other week. QUALIFICATIONS: Must be at least 18 years old. Must successfully complete a Calvert County Public Schools background check and meet with CHESPAX staff to have their ID verified. this must be completed each year. at the beginning of the school year. Start at the school website: Become a Volunteer - Calvert County Public School District (calvertnet.k12.md.us) No fingreprinting is required. Select "Field Trip Chaperone" when asked. Must observe a minimum of two CHESPAX Oyster program Shadowing days before they can teach a group on their own. New volunteers must meet with the program leader (Tania Gale) for a new volunteer orientation.
